The Freedom Project West Cumbria offers a CONFIDENTIAL helpline manned by a trained volunteer. The line is open 7 days and is a source of immediate support for victims in acute distress, offering practical and emotional help. This is often the first point of contact with our services for people who "self-refer". Last year the helpline was manned for over 4000 hours taking over 2000 calls. The helpline offers support and advice on all matters concerning sexual and domestic abuse and can be reached on 07712 117986. If the volunteer is unable to answer your questions she will endeavour to either find out for you or signpost you to the appropriate support provider.
Calls to this number may appear on your phone bill so please ensure that it is safe to call and that calling will not put you in any future danger. Calls are charged at the standard network charge from your mobile if they are not included in your free minutes and at the standard mobile charge if calling from a land line. If you feel unable to call from your own phone due to safety reasons, please consider calling us from a friend's phone (with their permission), a phone box or a work phone if possible. Alternatively contact us via our CONTACT US page.
